Facundo was born in 1857.  Facundo's father was Facundo Frías Iramían and his mother was Carolina Helguera Garmendia.  His paternal grandfather was Francisco Javier Frías Araujo and his paternal grandmother is Jenuaria Iramían Diaz Gallo. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Carlos Enrique, Jorge, Domingo Enrique, Jorge A., Juan Carlos, Alberto, Carolina, Amalia, Amalia and Rosa.  He was the oldest of the eleven children.
