Nelly Isabel was born in 1911. Nelly Isabel's father was Enrique Frías Cabirau and her mother is Nelly Pasman Livingston. Her paternal grandfather was Pedro Tomás Frías García and her paternal grandmother is Clemencia Cabirau Prudent. She had four brothers named Horacio, José Luis, Guillermo Arturo and Carlos Miles.
