Jorge José was born in 1900.  Jorge José's father was Jorge Luis Gustavo Street Simonsen and his mother was Zélia Frías Peña.  His maternal grandfather was José Miguel Frías Molina and his maternal grandmother is Rosaura Peña. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Ernesto, Luis, Maria Zélia, Heloisa Leopoldina, Celina Maria and Rosaura.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 80 in 1980.
