Alberto was born in 1862.  Alberto's father was Angel Cruz Padilla de la Puente and his mother is Lastemia Frías Gramajo.  His maternal grandfather was José Frías Araujo and his maternal grandmother is Maria Nieves Gramajo Molina. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Uladislao Francisco, Benjamín, Eduardo, Lastemia and Hortensia.  He died at the age of 70 in 1932.
